This rare vintage Bakelite ERAC Mercury I pistol-shaped subminiature film camera creates 18x18mm images. It comes with a custom-made stand.
The body is mainly a hollow pistol grip, with a rectangular body housing a Merlin camera, and a trigger operating both the shutter release and the film advance, which operates by using the back of your finger to advance the film by pulling the trigger forward. The Merlin has a single speed shutter containing a fixed-focus f/16 lens.
There are a couple of light scuffs and scratches on its exterior, but nothing major. Its lens has a light haze but appears free of fungus or separation. It shutter fires! This piece should be sitting in a museum. Put it in yours!
