This 1940's Fireman fire photo is of a 1 alarm fire/explosion at Smith, Kline & French Laboratories on Delaware Ave & Poplar St. It was taken October 24, 1947 at 1:30 pm. Information on the photo header states that 16 people were hurt in this explosion/fire. It is a black and white with a beautiful sepia tone. The photo itself is 10 1/2'' x 13 1/2''. It was part of a fire fighter related photo book which contained photos from the area of Philadelphia and South New Jersey.
