This Leica M3 35mm film rangefinder camera body (SN: 778 643) has been modified for use with either a wide angle lens and shoe mount viewfinder, for use with the Visoflex system for dedicated macro/close-up work, or for microscopy. We suspect this was done by a repair shop, but could have been done by Leica. There are no optics inside of the camera. the viewfinder and rangefinder are both gone and their openings are blocked off. There are scuff marks, scratches, finish loss, and a couple of dents on its exterior (pleas see photos).It is also missing some of its rear vulcanite wrap and there is a tiny 9-digit number etched into the base of the shoe. All shutter speeds sound correct.
