This sale features an original vintage early 1900s Keystone View Company Zeta Unit stereoview card (7x3½") titled - Upper - Sheep on a Ranch and Lower - A Ewe and Twin Lambs. Produced primarily in the early 20th century (c. 1900-1930s), these cards were used with a stereoscope to create a 3D effect. This specific card was designed as an "eye training" tool.
The "Zeta Unit" was an educational and therapeutic tool developed for vision training. It was part of Keystone's "Stereophthalmic Department," which focused on improving:
- Binocular Vision: Helping both eyes work together correctly.
- Depth Perception: Improving the ability to see in three dimensions.
- Eye Coordination: Strengthening the muscles and neurological pathways used for focusing and tracking.
