Original 1947 AP Wire Photo documenting the aftermath of a fatal collision in Mineola, New York. A 20-ton trailer truck was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train after becoming trapped on a grade crossing and was dragged approximately 500 feet into the station area. The truck erupted in flames, and according to the original AP caption, the driver was killed in the fire while the locomotive's engineer and fireman escaped with injuries after jumping from the cab.
