Original 1947 AP wire photo looks down on St. Patrick's Cathedral and Easter crowds along Fifth Avenue in New York City. The caption, dated April 6, says worshippers in their finery emerged from the cathedral for the Easter parade as late sunshine broke through an earlier haze. This overhead view was made from the 39th floor of the International Building at Rockefeller Center. The cathedral's twin spires, entrances, streets, and dense crowd are visible. The original typed caption is included separately. A blue photographer's stamp on the reverse reads "Photographer, Mt. Lebanon, Pgh., Pa." beneath a cursive name. Tape is visible at the photo corners, with corner and edge wear and minor surface marks. Measures approximately 6 x 9¼ inches. From the archive of a Pittsburgh area newspaper.
