Original 1947 AP Wirephoto showing an aerial view of the Pennsylvania Railroad's Golden Triangle after it jumped the tracks at a crossover in Warsaw, Indiana, on April 28. The train was traveling from Pittsburgh to Chicago when ten cars derailed and sprawled along the right-of-way. According to the original caption, all passengers were shaken up, but only four were injured seriously enough to require hospitalization. The caption is separate from the photograph, with both mounted on the same piece of black archival paper. Measures approximately 10 x 7¼ inches overall. Shows expected age, toning, edge wear and newsroom/archive handling. This photo came from the archive of a Pittsburgh area newspaper.
