According to the original caption, athletes representing the six Yugoslav republics carried an enormous portrait of Stalin past the reviewing stand during a parade of 15,000 men and women marking the sixth anniversary of Russia's entry into World War II. Marshal Tito, high-ranking government officials and members of the diplomatic corps are identified as being in the reviewing stand.
