The attached AP caption states that simple all-faith services were held on June 22, 1947, as identical caskets were lowered into trench-like graves at a memorial cemetery following the catastrophic April 16-17 waterfront explosion and fire in Texas City, Texas. Measures approximately 9¼" x 7". This photograph originated from a large scrapbook archive assembled and retained by a newspaper near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
