This antique 1/6 plate (2¾x3¼") Daguerreotype photo features a Victorian woman posed wearing a bonnet and dark dress with striped collar detail. The image is housed in half of an early book-form case designed to resemble a small book.
The front cover is missing, and the image is no longer sealed. There are a few light surface scratches along with general age-related wear to the case and image area. The earlier-style scalloped brass mat and preserver remain intact. Please see photos for condition and detail.
