The ship was set ablaze by American troops from the 82nd Airborne Division who were on a peacekeeping mission. According to military spokesmen, the paratroopers used recoilless rifle fire shells to attack the freighter after being fired upon by snipers located either on the ship or nearby. Please see photos.
