This sale features an original antique 1860s Manchester Photographic Company handcolored stereoview Albumen photo card (6¾x3⅜"). It is titled Wordsworth's Seat at Rydal Water in the English Lake District. The Manchester Photographic Company was established around 1860 by Helmut Petschler and his wife, Alice. The company specialized in capturing landscapes and architectural views using the then-popular stereoscopic process. Helmut Petschler died in 1869, and the business largely ceased production after that point. Please see photos.
