A striking in-flight image of the famous twin-boom P-38 Lightning, one of the most recognizable American aircraft of World War II. Measures approximately 8" x 6⅜". Reverse bears Associated Press Wirephoto ownership stamp. From a large newspaper archive assembled and retained by a Pennsylvania newspaper near Pittsburgh.
