The attached caption identifies the vessel as completely demolished and sunk in the dock area following the chain of explosions and fires that devastated the Texas City waterfront in April 1947. The image captures extensive damage to the ship and surrounding harbor infrastructure. This photograph is mounted to black scrapbook paper and measures approximately 9" x 8" overall. It originated from a large scrapbook archive assembled and retained by a newspaper near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
