Kelley became exhausted from the heat while caught in the path of advancing flames. Rescuers carried him to a cleared area where an Arlington-Flint Helicopter Co. aircraft picked him up. The separate original caption and photograph are both mounted on the same piece of black archival paper. Overall size measures approximately 8½ x 7½ inches.
