Carl Spaatz (right), chief of staff of the Air Force, in Washington, D.C. Lt. Gen. Nathan F. Twining, commander of the Air Materiel Command, looks on between them; the September 26 caption says he also received a card. Mooney was president of the society. The three men pose with the open card before a curtain. The separate original AP caption is taped across the lower front of the photo. Size is 7⅜ x 7¼ inches.
