According to the separate original caption, Axmann told U.S. investigators at Nuremberg that he saw Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun dead in their Berlin air raid bunker and helped burn their bodies in the garden of the Reich Chancellery. The caption states that Axmann was under automatic arrest because of his high rank in Nazi Party councils. Measures approximately 3⅞x8⅞ inches. Caption is separate from the photograph.
