According to the caption, the aircraft were among numerous planes damaged in the storm, and the aerial view was made from a New York Daily News plane by photographer Geo. Schmidt. The caption is separate from the photograph, and both are mounted on the same piece of black archival paper. Please note that the caption is torn and has been taped back together.
