According to the original caption, the collision between a mail and passenger train and a motorized hand car resulted in the engineer's death, injuries to eight others, and the derailment of 11 of the train's 13 cars. The photograph measures approximately 13¼" x 11". The original caption was detached and has been secured to the reverse with clear tape for preservation.
