Original 1947 AP Wirephoto showing Newark, New Jersey City Police Judge James Pellecchia Jr. examining one of his approximately 400 neckties. According to the original AP caption, Pellecchia had been named the "best dressed judge in the country" by the Fashion Foundation of America. The photograph shows him surrounded by an impressive display of patterned ties, because apparently 400 was the threshold between well dressed and declaring war on closet space. Original AP caption is printed directly along the bottom of the photograph. Period tape remains attached at the corners. Measures approximately 6¾ x 9 inches and shows expected age and newsroom/archive handling wear. Came from the archive of a Pittsburgh area newspaper.
