Original 1947 AP Wirephoto showing postwar life in devastated Stalingrad, Soviet Union. An ox cart loaded with farming equipment and carrying a child follows a Russian through the city streets in April 1947. According to the original caption, Stalingrad had been devastated by German forces during the long wartime siege and battle. The photograph was supplied as an AP Wirephoto from Paramount News. The separate original caption and photograph are both mounted on the same piece of black archival paper. Overall size measures approximately 9¼ x 7½ inches.
