Police valued the stolen jewelry at between $600,000 and $700,000 and described it as one of the greatest jewel thefts in the city's history. Hilton was a former Miss Hungary, sister of actress Eva Gabor, and former wife of hotel magnate Conrad Hilton. Caption is separate from the photograph, with both mounted on black archival paper.
