Original 1947 AP Wirephoto showing a dramatic train wreck at Union Depot in Columbus, Ohio. According to the original caption, Pennsylvania Railroad's Cincinnati Limited rammed an American train standing in the terminal, derailing two passenger cars and injuring one person. The image shows the locomotive pressed against a sharply tilted passenger car amid the damaged tracks. The separate original caption and photograph are both mounted on the same piece of black archival paper. Overall size measures approximately 8¼ x 7⅜ inches. Shows tape, age, handling wear and typical newsroom/archive use as pictured. This came from the archive of a Pittsburgh area newspaper. Strong railroad collision and derailment imagery.
