According to the original caption, a runaway string of freight cars struck a caboose in the Pennsylvania Railroad yards, leaving little more than wheels and splintered wreckage. Two brakemen were killed in the collision. The separate original caption and photograph are both mounted on the same piece of black archival paper. Overall size measures approximately 8¾ x 7¼ inches. Shows tape, age, handling wear and typical newsroom/archive use as pictured. This came from the archive of a Pittsburgh area newspaper.
