Original 1947 AP Wire Photo showing a reinforced UAW-CIO picket line marching outside the Clinton Machine Co. in Clinton, Michigan. According to the caption printed directly on the photograph, the demonstration took place in a tense atmosphere as an ongoing back-to-work movement at the struck plant led to a number of incidents. The image shows a long procession of workers carrying American and union flags alongside the railroad tracks near the plant. Measures approximately 8⅝x5⅝ inches. The image is somewhat light but remains clearly viewable. Note the aged tape on the corners and typical newsroom/archive handling wear. This photo came from the archive of a Pittsburgh area newspaper.
