According to the original AP caption printed directly on the photograph, the locomotive struck an obstruction near the 11th Street crossing, overturning and scattering passenger coaches and a baggage car along the tracks. Four crewmen were injured, while the train was carrying 25 passengers at the time of the accident. The photograph measures approximately 9¼ x 7½ inches overall and is mounted on black archival paper with the original AP caption printed directly on the photo.
