This striking image shows the battleship USS North Carolina (BB-55) being towed beneath the Brooklyn Bridge in New York Harbor en route from the Brooklyn Navy Yard to the Naval Supply Depot in Bayonne, New Jersey, where she would join the postwar "Operation Mothball" reserve fleet.
