Original 1947 AP Wire Photo depicting the New York City gangland-style killing of Vincent Wice, age 31. The AP caption states that Wice was shot by a gunman armed with a submachine gun while walking in the Hell's Kitchen area near Times Square. The image shows Wice's body at the scene as a detective conducts an investigation immediately following the shooting. Mounted on original black scrapbook paper from a Pittsburgh-area newspaper archive with the original AP caption attached at the bottom. Measures approximately 9" x 7½" overall including the scrapbook mount. Moderate age-related wear including corner wear, mounting tape remnants, light waviness, and scrapbook mounting.
