According to the original caption, Saucier was found half-buried in leaves after a search lasting several hours and was suffering from a bullet wound to the hip. Police sought him in connection with a holdup by three young bandits earlier that day in which a patrolman and two other people were hospitalized by gunfire. The caption is printed directly on the photograph, which is mounted on black archival paper. Measures approximately 7½ x 9½ inches overall. Shows vintage tape and newsroom/archive wear.
