August 22, 1947 AP wirephoto showing firefighters inside the wrecked Philadelphia Detective Bureau offices at City Hall after an explosion. The small caption printed along the lower edge says the blast was believed to have been caused by a bomb. Papers litter the floor among damaged furniture and filing cabinets as firemen examine the scene. Photo measures 7½ x 5½ inches and comes from the archive of a Pittsburgh area newspaper. Aged tape remains across all four corners, with yellowing and residue; tape at the bottom partly overlaps the small caption. Surface scuffs, scratches, light creases and handling wear are visible. Period pencil notation on the back appears to include "8-22"; the remaining handwriting is not clearly legible. Please inspect front and back photos for condition.
