Original 1947 AP wire photo showing Glenn A. Bradley, father of slain three-and-a-half-year-old Charles Bradley, meeting suspect Joseph Bortnyak at an inquest in Chicago. The child's body had been discovered beneath porch steps near the family home. According to the caption, police stated that Bortnyak signed a confession to strangling the boy, and the coroner's jury recommended that he face a murder charge. The caption is separate from the photograph, with both mounted on the same piece of paper. Overall size measures approximately 7¼" × 6½". Visible tape, emulsion loss, and expected age-related wear.
