Original 1947 AP wire photo showing Glenn A. Bradley, father of slain three-and-a-half-year-old Charles Bradley, meeting suspect Joseph Bortnyak at an inquest in Chicago. The child's body had been discovered beneath porch steps near the family home. According to the caption, police stated that Bortnyak signed a confession to strangling the boy, and the coroner's jury recommended that he face a murder charge.
