Residents examine the mangled aircraft after it was found following a return flight from Philadelphia, where the two men aboard had attended a night baseball game. The plane reportedly plowed through a wide swath of corn before stopping in a heap of twisted debris. Killed were owner and pilot Austin B. Eckenrode, 49, and Marlin Burd, 43.
