According to the caption printed directly on the photograph, Conner was flown from San Luis Obispo by the Army Air Forces for treatment after suffering from the bends while abalone fishing. Navy doctor Lt. (jg) William Scott is seated beside him. The caption states that Conner was required to spend 38 hours in the chamber. Measures approximately 6¼x8¼ inches. AP stamp on the back.
