The image was transmitted by radio from Singapore to London and then retransmitted to New York, resulting in the noticeably soft, contrasty image quality and transmission lines visible throughout. Caption is separate from the photo, with both mounted on black archival paper. Came from the archive of a Pittsburgh area newspaper.
