Original 1947 AP wire photo shows Armenian faith healer Avak Hagopian at the Arakelian home in Palm Springs, California. The caption, printed directly on the photo and dated May 21, says Hagopian was brought there to attempt the healing of Vaughn Arakelian. He is pictured among people admitted to receive his ministrations, including Antonio Carlos, 41, of Colton, California, seated in a wheelchair; the caption says Carlos had a broken spine. Hagopian reportedly planned to see 60 people daily, five days a week. The image includes the healer, his visitors, and Carlos. Light edge and corner wear and a few small surface marks are visible; review photos for condition. An AP stamp is on the reverse. Measures approximately 6½ x 9⅛ inches. From the archive of a Pittsburgh area newspaper.
