According to the caption, some of the trees were nearly four feet in diameter and were tossed down "like match sticks" by hurricane winds exceeding 100 mph. The photograph shows residents surveying the destruction amid fallen trees and debris. The caption is separate from the photograph, and both are mounted on the same piece of black archival paper.
