Nurse Ruth Van Stensel guides her as another young patient rides nearby. According to the original caption, Sandra was born with deformed legs that were amputated in 1946 and was fitted with artificial limbs in March 1947. The original AP caption is printed directly along the bottom of the photograph. AP stamp is present on the back.
