Clean-shaven gentleman has an intense direct gaze, receding hair swept across the crown and thick curls over his ears. Pink hand-tinted cheeks. He wears a dark coat, lustrous waistcoat, white high-collared shirt and dark cravat. Rounded rectangular mat has feathered borders, spots and tarnish; gold-tone preserver has floral embossing. Scattered image spots and scratches. Professionally resealed. Full wood/composite case has different front and back designs, possibly original, with worn leafy ornament, rubbing and edge losses. Burgundy velvet pillow has a pressed urn-like motif with leafy scrolls. Hinges present; latch does not work. Includes a recent printed note about photographer Isaac H. Dupee of Maine.
