Original 1947 AP Wirephoto showing billowing smoke rising from the Bermuda Sky Queen after the last of its 69 passengers and crew had been rescued. According to the original caption, the disabled flying boat was destroyed by shellfire from the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bibb because it posed a menace to navigation. The separate original caption is held to the bottom of the photograph with one piece of tape. AP Wirephoto stamp is present on the back. Measures approximately 7⅞ x 6⅝ inches.
