Original 1947 AP wire photo showing survivors watching as the disabled Bermuda Sky Queen aircraft is destroyed by gunfire after all sixty-nine passengers and crew members had been rescued. The survivors, wearing dry clothing donated by the rescue crew, are shown aboard the Coast Guard cutter Bibb. The caption is separate from the photograph, and an AP stamp appears on the back. Measures approximately 8" × 6". Tape remains on the corners with expected age-related wear. From the archive of a Pittsburgh-area newspaper.
