According to the original caption, the aircraft crashed into a pasture south of Wilmington, killing a couple identified as Walter L. Churchman and his wife of Worton, Maryland. Deputy Coroner Everett Kelley and another official examine the twisted debris while cattle stand nearby; police reportedly roped off the wreckage to keep the animals away. The separate original caption is taped to the photograph, which is mounted on black archival paper. Overall size measures approximately 8⅜ x 6½ inches.
