According to the original caption, ten Kansas residents, including seven children, their parents and another adult, were killed when their automobile was struck by a Colorado & Southern Railway train. The caption states that bodies were scattered for a quarter-mile along the tracks. Separate original caption is held to the bottom of the photograph with one piece of tape.
